Network Support Technician (Remote)

Our client is actively seeking a Network Support Technician for Dual Shifts. This role involves intermediate-level monitoring and troubleshooting of operating equipment, adhering to operational procedures, checklists, policies, and national IT best practices around the clock.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize HP Openview and Genesis network monitoring systems to deliver real-time analytics and alerts for the retailer terminal network, aiming for 100% network availability.
  • Oversee and monitor network devices and inter-site connections across multiple New York sites on an MPLS network.
  • Conduct intermediate level troubleshooting of network technologies related to IP network systems and other deployed network systems and backbone transports, following established procedures using available tools.
  • Perform intermediate level infrastructure hardware, software, and wiring installations according to standard procedures.
  • Monitor logical security using established tools and procedures.
  • Ensure completion of daily tasks/work by accurately executing communication checklists.
  • Comply with service level agreements by adhering to established SLA performance requirements.
  • Follow IT best practices as per established performance standards.
  • Engage in Incident Management processes, including incident identification, notification, documentation, intermediate level diagnosis, and remediation activities.
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing with other technicians, encourage feedback, innovation, and motivate team members.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of the weekly network invoice before sending it to the customer.

Ideal Experience

  • A two-year technical college degree or comparable experience is required.
  • 1-2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of IP protocols, Windows command line, and Cisco equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Office suite and PC operating systems.
  • Entry-level understanding of WAN topology, associated monitoring and troubleshooting tools, data center network equipment, and network cable specifications.
